Chapter 1314 - 97: Mutations Across Factions (Part 2)

Cooperate with the Regent King to unleash this world’s calamity, the Beast of the Herd. All Hammer knows is this; as for what to do after releasing the Beast of the Herd... he doesn’t need to know, because Hammer understands that by then, he might already be dead, or trapped in some state between life and death.

But none of that matters anymore.

Hammer’s body trembled slightly, not from fear, but from excitement. He was about to be liberated, offering his final loyalty to the lady.

"They’re here."

Hammer smelled a faint scent of blood in the air. Then, on the other side of the cliff, a group of people dressed in red robes appeared.

"Are these sacrifices enough, Yidir?"

Hammer asked again. As the Calamity Servant, Yidir was crucial to this operation.

"Not enough yet."

Yidir took a deep breath, and then shook his head, "The scent of blood is too faint; not enough people have died... I need more blood and flesh to attract the Beast of the Herd’s attention."

He said this, looking toward the Regent King, "Could you perhaps spare some blood and flesh?"

"Certainly."

The Regent King smiled at him.

In the scheming of multiple forces, Gray Stone Town had already become a desperate hell. Amid the burning flames, twisted, grotesque meat fungus carpet spread wildly, devouring charred bodies, yet still unsatiated.

Previously, Bologue had timely intervened, preventing the Blood and Flesh Plague from spreading. But this time, it fully unleashed its power, feasting on everything in the world.

The Night Race looked warily at these twisted creations; although they were extremely disgusted, they still commanded one Bloodthirsty after another to walk into the meat fungus carpet, as if in a sacrifice, letting them be completely consumed by the flesh.

Most of the town was shrouded in the Blood and Flesh Plague, as the evil power ruthlessly turned inanimate objects into bloody flesh. The streets and alleys were filled with a strong smell of blood, twisted undead wandering unknowingly. Their bodies transformed by the rampant plague, they shed large chunks of meat as they moved, revealing bloody bones, with the air reeking of stench and chaos, forcing one to retch.

Due to the activity of the Scarlet Cult, the Eternal Rotting Land was one of the more common Extraordinary Disasters. Yet, no matter how common it was, every time witnessing this scene, the Regent King could not help but feel nauseous.

But compared to the Extraordinary Disasters initiated by the Night Race, disasters strong enough to destroy one’s will and dignity, the Regent King felt that the Eternal Rotting Land was, in comparison, gentle.

The undead wandered aimlessly, their eyes hollow and without spirit, having lost life and emotion. They followed their instincts, slowly approaching anything that moved, emitting low growls.

Most of the undead were left with just broken bodies and bloody bones; their existence was a total annihilation, a terrifying and cruel nightmare.

In an instant, the town within the rift had turned into a terrifying maze, where survival amidst the plague of flesh had become nearly impossible.

The new town was completely destroyed, and more than half of the old town remained. The survivors were forced to hide in dark corners, trembling as they waited for rescue, but hope seemed swallowed by endless darkness, blurring the line between the living and the dead.

Some survivors crossed the fencing, heading along the Gray Stone Rift towards the Great Rift, their figures growing faint, uncertain if they could escape or fall into another hell.

"I don’t think we can hold this place."

Yidir suddenly said, even though the corruption of Gray Stone Town had been completed mostly, and the undead had formed a certain scale, it seemed impossible to use this power to attack along the Gray Stone Rift.

"The elite of the Order Bureau must be on their way. What do we do next?" Yidir’s voice grew increasingly tense.

"Relax, relax."

The Regent King comforted him, "Just follow me, as for here... we don’t need to hold it; we just need to attract the Order Bureau’s attention."

He said, looking at Hammer, "This little thing, it’s something you Scarlet Cult people can always manage, right?"

Hammer replied firmly, "Naturally."

Hearing them say this, Yidir showed a helpless expression. After hesitating for a long time, he bared his arm, lifted a dagger, and slowly cut into his flesh, blood gushing out.

Yidir’s flesh seemed to have magic power, evaporating in the air before it could land. The Regent King sniffed but noticed nothing unusual, yet he soon clearly sensed that Yidir’s blood, like a catalyst, stirred the flesh covering the ground even more intensely.

"You..." The Regent King looked at Yidir curiously.

"I myself am a living vessel," Yidir rubbed his arm, and in the blink of an eye, the wound healed, "Otherwise, how did you think I could trigger the Blood and Flesh Plague."

"You are the plague’s container." The Regent King exclaimed in surprise, his eyes filled with an unknown contemplation.

Suddenly, the undead began to wail one after another, collapsing into mud amidst shrill cries. The raging sea of corpses was remarkably swept into a vacuum zone.

"Is there also field staff?" Hammer asked in confusion.

Yidir concentrated, looking and recognizing the figure, sensing the blood aura emanating from it, he questioned the Regent King, "Is that one of yours?"

"Hmm? Sort of... but not really."

Without needing to see, just by smelling the blood aura in the air, the Regent King could determine that person’s identity.
